Normal

Life has changed drastically in the last two decades. From technological advancement to human and behavioral changes, life is not what it used to be. Some would argue that this advancement and change is good and necessary for human benefit and survival. They believe it is incumbent upon humans to embrace all advancement in favor of further development and potential for longer, better and diverse human life. They believe changes in norms and values are essential and even necessary for flourishment. They strive to change well-established biblical norms into what they call a “new normal.”

What they fail to acknowledge however, is that the ultimate human goal is not what happens on this earth, but rather what happens in eternity. So the question becomes not whether these advancements and changes are beneficial for our current lives, but whether they help us obtain eternity and the Kingdom of God. Our society currently faces some of the most dangerous changes in history. We must therefore be extra cautious with change, and strive to find the true normal in God’s word. A normal that will advance us into heaven, rather than a “progressive” agenda pushed by the devil.
