The Good and the Bad

We can feel peaceful when all is well, but can we find peace during difficulties? Can we find strength of endurance and a place of contentment during hard trials or tragedy? God performs incredible miracles for us, but we have to consider that God allowed the good and the bad in our lives. “In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, So that man can find out nothing that will come after him.” (Eccl. 7:14)

As Saint Paul teaches us, we must not waver no matter what the circumstances are. “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Cor. 15:58)

To help us with this we can follow these simple steps:

  1. Study God’s word with focus and consistency.
  2. Pray intently and speak to God daily.
  3. Expect and accept trials with joy because we know it produces patience. (see James 1:2-3)
