Often we think of generosity only in terms of giving money, possessions, or time. But generosity of spirit is not about these things; it’s about being generous in your goodwill toward others, about a growing desire to sow goodness all around you. The spiritually generous person always feels the need to do more for their family, friends, church or community, and they look for opportunities to practice giving without expecting anything in return. The spiritually generous person receives all their expectations in “the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord” (Philippians 3:8).
