With Easter right around the corner, many of us are already planning the celebrations. Whether that be purchasing new clothes, or making a list of the foods we want to eat after we break our fast. Instead of thinking about these things that are undoubtedly exciting and fun, we should take a moment and reflect on the upcoming Holy Week.
“Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.” (Luke 24:6-7)
We must remember that without crucifixion and death on the cross, there is no resurrection from the tomb. Let us therefore empty our hearts from all sin and evil, and accept Christ inside us as we join Him on His journey of suffering through Holy Week and Good Friday. For if we join Him in death, we will transition with him to life as He liberates us from sin.
Unless there is a Good Friday in your life, there can be no Easter Sunday.” – Ven. Fulton Sheen
