The Bridge

Prayer is a bridge between us and God. Prayers are not just mere words, but prayers must carry weight and meaning from the heart. All you need is to be in the presence of the Lord, and nothing else matters. God does not care if you express your prayers using your tongue or not. Prayer is a link that is stronger than mere words. Our Lord rebuked those who praised him with their mouths while their hearts were distant from him.  “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me” (Matthew 15:8). Many beautiful words can be said to God, but God cares about true pious affection and a real concern about the soul and eternity. God wants the heart, regardless of whether the tongue speaks or not. When we pray, the bridge must take us into the presence of the Lord.
