Sing aloud unto God our strength; make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. (Ps. 81:1)
Let us praise the Lord with all our expressions of holy joy and excitement. With our musical instruments, and with singing we should worship God with happiness, reverence and Godly fear. Let us be warm and affectionate in praising God, singing out loud and showing our faith without shame or reluctance. We depend on our Lord in everything at every time, so it is always appropriate to praise God, but even more so when we are joined together at church, during a feast, or any other gathering.
There is no right or wrong time to praise God, but any time is a good time. Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns to the Lord at midnight while in prison! (Acts 16:25). We can sing when joyful, but also when we are troubled, waiting on the Lord for deliverance in due time. When praising God, we can do it in private, or we can do it “among the nations” and “among the peoples” (Ps. 108:3).
“My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.” (Psalm 71:23).
Let us sing to our Lord’s honor, and with a desire to be accepted of him.
Amen 🙏🏼
