Chrism

I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2)

We can never expect true help to come from people, but we see all our help laid up in God only. The help we are looking for is what he sends to us and we expect it in his own way and time. We must ask God for help with true faith in his promises, and a high regard to all his commandments. No matter how great our trouble, he that made heaven and earth has sufficient power to grant us relief. Let us therefore put our full confidence in God, and by faith put ourselves under his comforting protection and commit ourselves to his gracious care.
