Are You Weak?

In our weakness, God’s Glory shines! Our trust should not be in ourselves, or in whatever is around us, rather it should be blind confidence in God. Sometimes it seems as if God intentionally weakens us, because through our weakness, God is glorified. “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” (2 Cor. 12:19)

The number one criteria for God to bless us, is our ability to put our trust in Him. In Matthew 13:58, we are told that Jesus “did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief,” referring to the lack of faith of the people of Nazareth. Similarly, God does not do any work in us if we do not believe and trust him.

Whatever battle we are in, who or what are we relying on? Are we relying on ourselves or others or are we relying on God? God wants us to have helpless dependence on Him, and although that might be scary, we know that God loves us and wants the best for us.
